Nature Field Trips
When children enter the PreK classroom, they have the exciting opportunity to participate in weekly nature field trips. On these outings, children travel on our small school buses with their teachers and parent volunteers to natural areas around Albuquerque, where they can fully immerse themselves in the outdoors and explore.
Being in wide-open natural spaces gives children the freedom to explore using their whole bodies, enjoy the calming and healthy benefits of fresh air and movement, and discover things that simply can’t be taught inside the classroom.
The PreK classes goes out in all but the most extreme weather, spending the entire day outdoors. This gives children plenty of time to fully immerse themselves in the experience and explore at their own pace.
Whether it’s the mountains, the foothills, the Bosque, or the West Mesa, children have endless opportunities to explore, discover, and connect with the unique landscapes around Albuquerque.
